Club Shooting Sends 2 To Hospital, 1 In Critical Condition

Connecticut police are still trying to piece together what led up to a shooting at a New Haven nightclub that left one man clinging to life, authorities said.

The shooting was reported around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Saint Sebastian Club at 130 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia, authorities said. 

It's unclear why, but a group of men began to fight and one of them pulled a gun and shot a 27-year-old multiple times in the chest and torso Ansonia Police said. Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital where he remained in critical condition. 

Police also found a 26-year-old suffering non-life-threatening injuries with a gunshot to his buttocks, authorities said. 

The group who were fighting scurried away before the police arrived. 

Officers had been called to the club about 30 minutes before the shooting to reports of a fight, authorities said. The fighters left when they saw the police but returned after the cops left and began fighting again, officials said.
